Chronic conditions and multimorbidity
With an initial focus on acute management, chronic cardiac disease represents the single largest departmental research area. In the area of secondary cardiac prevention, it is currently conducting the largest ever non-pharmaceutical randomised controlled trial in Irish general practice (Murphy et al. 2005).
