Áine Ryan MA, HDE, University Teacher and Course Coordinator for MA Advanced Language Skills, German.
Áine graduated from the University of Limerick with a BA in European Studies and subsequently obtained the Higher Diploma in Education (Secondary School Teaching) and Master of Arts (Research) in German from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She also holds the RELSA Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language and An Ceard Teastas Gaeilge, Béal agus Scríobh. Áine was awarded a post-graduate scholarship from the ÖAD to undertake post-graduate study on the writings of Ingeborg Bachmann at the Karl Franzen University, Graz, Austria. Before commencing employment at the German Department, NUI Galway she held academic teaching posts in University College Dublin, with the Open University and with the Galway, Mayo Institute of Technology and was also employed as an English language teacher in Germany and in Ireland. She has worked with a number of German companies in the private sector which included the posts of translator and training co-coordinator.
Áine is currently completing a doctorate in Education with the University of Sheffield in England.
