Master of Health Sciences (specialist nursing)
Programme description
This is a one-year modular programme and is comprised of one taught module and a research dissertation. This programme has nursing practice and research as the central focus.
The programme is facilitated on-line and students attend for two one-day workshops a semester. A one-day introduction to the programme is offered on the Friday prior to the programme commencing.
Programme aims and objectives
The aim of this programme is to provide the graduate with the knowledge and skills to meet the changing demands of health care and nursing practice. Drawing on the experience the students bring, the nature of nursing and nursing knowledge is explored in the context of ethical practice and the development of expertise.

Minimum entry requirements
Candidates must: have attained Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Level 9) with an aggregated mark of at least 60%, be on the active Register as a nurse; have practised as a nurse for a minimum of two years post-registration (exclusive of post-registration/educational programmes).
