Our vision

Our vision is to improve population health by developing and promoting an evidence-based approach to health behaviour change interventions.

We aim to

  • Lead the behaviour research agenda, by identifying and pursuing behavioural research priorities which impact on health. 
  • Develop, pilot, and evaluate complex interventions, using evidence-based behavioural theory and employing theory-linked behaviour change techniques.
  • Advance the science and methods of behaviour change and critically evaluate the evidence for different approaches to behaviour change. 
  • Build capacity by establishing a critical mass of excellent researchers, delivering innovative training and creating a vibrant learning environment.
  • Impact on health outcomes by engaging the public, healthcare professionals and policy makers throughout all stages of the research process.
