A lecturer with the Discipline of Health Promotion, NUI Galway, Martin pursued his undergraduate degree and doctoral thesis at NUI Galway. Before joining the Discipline, Martin held posts both with IT Carlow, and the Adult and Continuing Education Centre, NUI Galway. Martin is co-ordinator for years 1 and 3 of the BA Social Care and teaches on a variety of courses across the School.
