Within NUI Galway Occupational First Aiders have completed a certified three day first aid course (valid for two years). In advance of any emergency you should familiarise yourself with the names, locations and contact numbers of the Occupational First Aiders in your Colleges/Schools/Research Institute/Support Services. Colleges/Schools/Research Institute/Support Services should complete this and other critical safety information on the Safety Contacts Poster and display in prominent locations.

Emergency Response Kit Bags for external first aid emergencies in 4 locations - The Mail Room (Aras Uí Chathail), Press & Information Office (The Quadrangle), Parking & Information Office (The Concourse) and Centre for Disability Law & Policy (North Campus).
First Aid Room (unstaffed) in the Sport Complex (Kingfisher).
An NUI Galway first Aid Record Form to be completed in all cases where first aid was administered.
A Cardiac First Response Report (PHECC) to be completed in the event of a cardiac related incident. (Provided to Occupational First Aiders at training).
"RED Card" (PHECC) giving responders the key points to be covered in making a 999/112 call. (Provided to Occupational First Aiders at training and to all staff at events and on request).
"Green Card" giving the key points in the administration of Aspirin, where required. (Provided to Occupational First Aiders at training).
