The NUI Galway Health and Safety Office is charged with advising the Governing Authority, all levels of University Management, Staff and Students and other relevant parties on matters regarding Safety, Health and Welfare at Work. In accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and associated legislation, it is the University’s policy, to ensure in so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of staff in their workplace and the Health and Safety Office contributes to this process by providing advice and assistance on health, safety and welfare related matters.
NUI Galway provides a safe and healthy work environment, through a wide range of measures, services and by the active commitment of all staff and students to safety considerations in all their activities. This is for the direct benefit of all University personnel and is legally required by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and associated legislation.
