Welcome to Health Promotion AT nui, gALWAY
The Discipline of Health Promotion is the only one of its kind in Ireland and was established with the support of the Department of Health as part of a revised National Structure for Health Promotion.
Its brief is twofold:
- To develop training and education courses in the field of health promotion and
- To carry out relevant research. The Health Promotion Research Centre has an active multidisciplinary research programme in place.
Our Mission is to promote health and wellbeing, and to reduce inequities in health by:-
- Providing high quality and innovative education and training
- Stimulating, conducting, and disseminating exemplary research
- Contributing to the development of healthy public policy and best practice in health promotion
- Working in the University and the wider community in ways that reflect and support the principles and values of health promotion.

GYA 15: MA (Health Promotion) – full-time
GYA 16: MA (Health Promotion) – part-time (year 1)
Year 2 students commence Tuesday 20th September 2011
GYA 17: PG Diploma (Health Promotion) – full-time
GYA 18: PG Diploma (Health Promotion) – part-time (year 1)
