NUI Galway Child Protection Policy
NUI Galway is fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of all the children and young people with whom we work. The University’s policy on Child Protection is in accordance with “Children First – National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of Children – 1999” which was published by the Dept. of Health and Children. NUI Galway is committed to promoting the rights of the child including the participation of children and young people in matters that affect them.
The
Child Protection Policy was developed through the University’s Partnership process in order to ensure a safe environment for all at NUI Galway. This policy which has been approved by Governing Authority is now in force within the University and should be considered fully in relation to each area of responsibility.
The designated Child Protection Officer for the University is Ms. Carmel Browne, Ext 3649, email
