George P. McCabe
George P. McCabe is a professor in the Department of Statistics and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Science at Purdue University. He earned a PhD in mathematical statistics from Columbia University and a BS in Mathematics from Providence College. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and served as chair of the Statistical Consulting Section of the American Statistical Association. He was a member of the IOM Committee on the Use of Dietary Reference Intakes in Nutrition Labeling and the IOM Committee on Nutrition Standards for National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Current research interests include applications of statistics in a variety of areas with particular emphasis on nutrition. He is the coauthor of a widely used introductory statistical text, currently in its seventh edition, and a business statistics text, currently in its third edition. Translations have appeared Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and Dutch. His publications include over 160 journal articles in a variety of fields.
