The HRB Clinical Research Facility, Galway (CRFG) is a joint venture between Galway University Hospitals (GUH) and National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) and has been in operation since March 2008. The CRFG provides the infrastructure, physical space, facilities, expertise and culture needed to optimally support patient-focused research studies and clinical studies aimed at understanding a range of diseases and translating the knowledge obtained through this research work into reimbursed, regulatory approved advances in patient care as speedily as possible.
Introductory Course in Biostatistics. June 4th - 7th
Course Lecturers: George P. McCabe, Purdue University; John Newell, CRFG, NUI Galway
The workshop provides participants with an overview of fundamental biostatistical methods, an understanding of the key concept of variability and a practical working knowledge of the statistical techniques they are likely to encounter in applied medical research.

An opening for a PhD student in Biostatistics is available in the HRB Clinical Research Facility jointly with the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics. The proposed PhD in Biostatistics is by research and will be of interest to students with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics or Statistics who wish to specialise in biostatistics and develop their skills in modern statistical methods in a Clinical environment.
