Global Study Finds "Salt in Moderation" is the Key to Health

A large worldwide study involving 49 countries has found that, contrary to popular thought, low-salt diets may not be beneficial and may actually increase the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and death (compared to average salt consumption). The results from the study were published in The Lancet. Prof. Martin O'Donnell, HRB Clinical Research Facility Director, is a co-author on the study.
