Rhonda Ferguson is PhD candidate with the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland
Galway. Her dissertation focuses on operationalizing
the right to health in Canada and her other academic interests include,
economic, social and cultural rights, particularly the right to health
and to food, as well as women’s rights and development issues. Rhonda
currently lectures in the School of Health Policy and Management at
York University in Toronto, Canada and has research experience with
both intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in North
America, Europe, and Asia. She has completed an
internship with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
in the Research and Right to Development Division; worked as a research
analyst at Catalyst Canada, an organizations that works to advance
women and business; volunteered with Amnesty International as a
researcher and assistant; and worked as researcher/writer with
the Arakan Human Rights Commission.
