Rick
Lines lectures in Human Rights and Drug Policy for the LL.M in
International Human Rights Law at the Irish Centre for Human Rights.
Mr.
Lines is Director of the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug
Policy, based at the Human Rights Centre at the University of
Essex, where he is a Visiting Fellow. He holds an
MA in Sociology (York University, Toronto) and an LL.M. in
International Human Rights Law (Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUIG).
He is currently completing a PhD in Law at the University of Middlesex.
He has held senior posts with non-governmental organisations in Canada,
Ireland and the United Kingdom, and has acted as a technical assistance
advisor on HIV in prisons for several UN
agencies. He currently works as the Executive Director of Harm Reduction
International in London.
Mr.
Lines is a past member of the Technical Advisory Group to the Global
Commission on HIV and the Law and Core Member of the Reference
Group to the United Nations on HIV and Injecting Drug Use.
