Prof Paul Crowther Lecture at MIT

At the end of September Paul Crowther - Professor of Philosophy at NUIG - presented an invited guest lecture to the Department of Architecture, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.( MIT was recently recognized as the world's top university in the QS World Rankings, and its Department of Architecture was the first to be created in the USA.) Professor Crowther lectured on 'Corporeal Structure and Architectural Cognition: A Re-Phenomenology'. His presentation considered the role of computing in architectural design on the basis of ideas from his recent books on phenomenology of the visual Arts. The lecture was offered as the outline of a new research project combining his philosophical work with extended field-studies of the world's most important architectural achievements.
