Editorial Board Appointment

Dr Elizabeth Tilley has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Canadian Studies for a two-year term from January 2015. 

Citizen’s Health through Public-Private Initiatives

Dr Heike Felzmann (Philosophy) is involved in COST Action on “Citizen’s Health through public-private Initiatives: Public health, Market and Ethical Perspectives” (CHIPME, IS1303) that addresses emerging issues in relation to genetic testing, including direct-to-consumer genetic testing. The COST Action began in November 2013 and will run until November 2016. Her role is as member of Working Group 3 that is dedicated to ethical issues in relation to new practices and concerns in genetic testing, currently with focus on public perceptions of public-private partnerships and on incidental findings in genetic medicine, research and direct-to-consumer testing.

Capacity building in Romanian Universities

(UNIVERSITARIA) – A European Commission funded capacity building project for Romanian universities. Dr Heike Felzmann is involved in the project is as research ethics and research integrity subject expert, collaborating with colleagues from Norway and the UK in the development of the capacity building interventions. Part of a larger international team of subject experts that are jointly developing teaching materials and will provide a series of face-to-face workshops and online course components to Romanian colleagues. Work on the project began in November 2014 and will run until the end of summer 2015.
