The marine institute is a government body set up to deal undertake, to co-ordinate, to promote and to assist in marine research and development and to provide such services related to marine research and development, that in the opinion of the Institute will
promote economic development and create employment and protect the environment.
This was formerly the British Institute of Hydrology.

Danish hydraulic homepage
Denmark is one of the leading countries in the E.U. for hydrology and engineering hydrology. Specialising in areas such as hydrodynamic modelling.
University of Delaware
Ocean University of Delaware, Newark, DE, 19716, USA
This inter disciplinary centre provides a focal point for research in coastal processes and coastal engineering. Members of the centre are coastal engineers, coastal geologists and oceanographers, primarily from the University of Delaware and the Middle-Atlantic region.
NOAA - Tidal Analysis
The Oceanographic Products and Services Division (OPSD) collects, analyses and distributes historical and real-time observations and predictions of water levels, coastal currents and other meteorological and oceanographic data.
GFDL - Geophysical Fluid Dynamic Lab
The goal of GFDL's research is to understand and predict the earth's climate and weather, including the impact of human activities. GFD conducts leading-edge research on many topics of great practical value, including weather and hurricane forecasts, El Niņo prediction, mstratospheric ozone depletion, and global warming.
Royal Navy: Structure: Hydrographic Service
The royal Navy are greatly involved in gathering information necessary to harmonic analysis and tide prediction
The Canadian Hydraulics Centre
The Canadian Hydraulics Centre's business is providing physical and numerical modelling and analysis services to the engineering community in the general field of hydraulics, specialising in coastal engineering, environmental hydraulics, and cold regions technology.
SINTEF
The R&D carried out by the department encompasses all types of hydrologic and hydraulic investigations related to rivers and hydropower systems. The foremost market for the Water Resources department has been the Norwegian hydropower industry in the broadest sense, including hydropower companies, river regulation co-operatives and public regulatory agencies. The problems are solved with the help of physical scale models in the laboratory, field studies and numerical simulations.
