Home owners
What are the benefits of taking part in the study?
By taking part you will be contributing to important research on indoor air pollution in homes. You will also get information on the levels of air pollutants that we measured in your home.
How will the data collected in the project be used?
We hope that the information collected will tell us something about the types of air pollutants released into our homes when we burn various fuel types to cook food or to heat our home, or if we smoke at home. Previous research projects have collected information on air pollutants generated from smoking, however this is one of the first studies in Ireland and Scotland to look at air pollutants from smoking in domestic dwellings.
This information will help us advise the
Environmental Protection Agency on the health risks associated with indoor air pollution.
