Project Abstract
The question of the nature of the links between the farm household and the local community is emerging as central to the ongoing changes taking place in Irish agriculture. The aim of this research project is to increase knowledge on task management and time use in rural households in order to increase understanding of livelihood strategies, household organisation, and leisure time choices and constraints of farm families. This will build on directly on earlier work on the subjects of on and off-farm incomes and on community and social work carried out by farm families.
