M.Eng.Sc.: Industrial Engineering and Information Systems (Human Factors Engineering)
General:
The aim of this course is to provide the graduate with a range of skills which enable him/her to work with individuals form other disciplines so as to develop and design person-machine systems using the appropriate combination of human skills and technological innovation.
Duration 2 years. Time-Table Full-time / part-time. Course Content Systems Design; Engineering Anthropometry; Human Error and Reliability; Task Analysis; Design of Visual Displays; Equipment and Workplace Design; Design for Health and Safety; Human Performance Modelling; Human Factors in the Design and Use of Computer Systems; Human Computer Inaction (HCI); Human Factors of AMT; Human Factors aspects of CAD; Human Factors in Process Control. Assessment Written and oral examination and dissertation. Entry Requirements Candidates must hold an honours degree in Engineering. Career Opportunities Graduates with the skill developed in this course are much sought after by industry, and research and educational establishments in Ireland and abroad. They can expect to find opportunities in a number of areas, including large-scale systems design, software development, and research and consultancy.
