Postgraduate Programmes engineering
Engineering postgraduate programmes are amongst the most popular within the University. The fulltime Masters programmes are designed as an additional year to the undergraduate degree and as a bridging degree for other science and engineering degrees. The part-time Masters are designed for graduates in industry who wish to study on a part-time basis. The M.Eng.Sc. and Ph.D. are mainly fulltime research degrees for honours engineering graduates.

Postgraduate Programmes Health & Safety
Health & Safety has become a major concern for society at large. Its growing significance is highlighted by increasing legislation and regulation at Irish and European levels. Primarily focussed on the welfare and well being of people at work, it is also concerned with the safety of technological systems within the work environment. The National University of Ireland, Galway has developed extensive postgraduate activities in Occupational Health & Safety.
MSc Occupational Health & Safety and Ergonomics
This is a one-year full-time programme which requires the completion of course work and a minor research thesis.
MApplSc Occupational Safety Engineering and Ergonomics (full-time)
This programme is normally taken as a taught Masters (course work and thesis) over one year.
MApplSc Occupational Safety Engineering and Ergonomics (part-time)
This programme is normally taken as a taught Masters (course work and thesis) over two years.
Higher Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and Hygene
This is a full-time programme which takes place over one academic year.
