Remove EPO Agent

The EPO Agent provides an essential service as part of our virus defences. It ensures that McAfee Virus Scan is installed and running with current virus definitions and effective policies. Information Solutions and Services recommend that EPO Agent should NOT be removed from any computer that connects to the NUI,Galway campus network unless advised by a Information Solutions and Services' technician. 

1. Go to Start > Run
    
   
   
2. Type Command or CMD and click OK 
   
   
   
3. A DOS window will open, at the C:> prompt, type CD Program Files and press Return 
   
   
   
4. At the C:Program Files> prompt, type CD McAfee and press Return
   
   
   
5. At the C:Program Files.McAfee> prompt, type CD Common Framework and press Return
   Note:  If you receive an error "The system cannot find the path specified", type CD.. and press Return.
   Type CD Network Associates and press Return
   Type CD Common Framework and press Return.
   
    
   
6. At the C: Program Files ... Common Framework> prompt, type FrmInst.exe /forceuninstall and press Return      
   Note: Please note the capital letter i in FrmInst.ext, this can be easily mistaken for a lower case L (l) 
    
7. Restart your Computer

The McAfee EPO Agent has now been completely removed from your computer.  Please ensure that you have adequate anti-virus protection for your computer by re-installing EPO immediately.
