Information Solutions and Services make use of an anti-virus management system called McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (EPO) to remotely monitor anti-virus software on Windows computers connected to the campus network. In the event of a virus outbreak, updates can be downloaded to client machines and infected computers identified.
An EPO agent is installed on each client computer which reports back details to the ePolicy Server. The agent itself takes up no more then 1.3MB of space. Correctly configured computers which have the EPO agent installed can have their virus definitions and McAfee VirusScan software automatically updated.
Note: EPO agent should only be installed on networked "on campus" computers and should not be installed on home computers.
