As part of the University’s IT Equipment contract, the IT suppliers have made commitments as follows:
Information Solutions and Services are working with the Buildings Office to identify a suitable location for a recycling cage so that all obsolete IT equipment could be collected for recycling as above at one central point. If you have obtained a new computer and you wish to re-allocate your old computer within the University, it must be in good working order and meet the minimum specification for connection to the NUI Galway wired network.
A. Ensure that your data has been backed up and removed

B. Wipe computer
Log a call with the Service Desk and arrange a time with the assigned technician to bring the unit to Information Solutions and Services. The computer will then be wiped and re-imaged with the standard NUI Galway Operating System and software. You will then be notified to have the unit collected from Information Solutions and Services.
C. Node Registration
Advise the new owner of the computer that they need to complete a Node Move Form before re-connecting the computer to the campus network –

This applies to computers that do not meet the
