Process for moving devices on the campus network
- For newly purchased
Dell PCs
do not power on until you have been contacted by an ISS technician
- Complete
Node Registration Form (
Instructions to help you complete the node registration form) and return it to the
ISS Service Desk.
- If you are replacing your desktop or laptop and require a temporary folder on a central drive to
transfer your data from your old device to new device please indicate this on form
- ISS will advise you of the location / folder name for transfer of data
(please note this is only a temporary share and the contents will be deleted after two weeks)
- On receipt of the Node Registration Form a ticket will be logged for you in the Service Desk ticketing system
- An ISS technician will contact you to schedule a day/time to remotely configure your new device to the Campus Network. The remote configuration process will take approximately 30mins
- Prior to this appointment you will need to un-box and
setup your new PC /
setup your new Laptop, (
do not power on your PC until instructed to do so by the ISS technician)

- Please complete a
Node Registration Form (
Instructions to help you complete the node registration form) and submit it to ISS for processing before you take delivery of your new Mac.
- When the form has been processed you will receive confirmation from ISS. At this point you can schedule installation with the supplier

Screenway will contact you to schedule delivery of you new device. The supplier will install Office for Mac and other NUI Galway software for which there is a site licence available

- If you wish to connect your personal laptop to the campus network you must ensure your laptop meets the following
requirements:
- On receipt of the Node Registration Form a ticket will be logged for you in the Service Desk ticketing system
- An ISS technician will contact you to schedule a day/time to remotely configure your new device to the Campus Network. The remote configuration process will take approximately 30mins
Please note all devices must authenticate to UDS |
- If you are moving a device from one network point to another, you must complete a Node Move Form (
Instructions to help you complete the node registration form) and return it to the
ISS Service Desk.
- On receipt of the
Node Move Form a ticket will be logged for you in the Service Desk ticketing system
- An ISS technician will contact you to schedule a day/time to connect your device to the new wall box
- Prior to this appointment you will need to move and setup your device
