Why do I see multiple contacts under Outlook Address Book when selecting message recipients?
Multiple contacts are displayed when the option to display the contact folder is selected for multiple contact folders. Complete the following steps to resolve this problem.
- Open
Contacts (click Contacts in the Navigation pane on the left of the Outlook window).
- Under the heading My contacts, right-click on
Contacts.
- Choose
Properties from the menu that appears.
- In the Contacts Properties dialog box, click the
Outlook Address Book tab.
- Ensure that
Show this folder as an email Address Book
is ticked
(as shown in image above).
- Click
Apply and then click
OK.
- Under the heading My contacts, right-click on the second item e.g.
Contacts in Personal Folders and choose
Properties.
- Repeat step 4 but this time, ensure that
Show this folder as an email Address Book
is NOT ticked. Click
Apply and then click
OK.
- Repeat steps 7 & 8 for any remaining items under the heading My contacts.
