What is the U:Drive?
The M:Drive is an area of file storage on the campus network which is made available to staff and researchers who wish to share files in a collaborative way. Note: If staff wish to share files with undergraduate students, it is recommended that the Q:Drive is used.
Staff who wish to share files in a collaborative way with other staff can use the M:Drive as it provides central network file location. Files placed onto the M:Drive can be read, copied, modified or deleted by other staff who have permissions to access that M:Drive.
Once you have requested and been assigned rights to a specific folder on the M:Drive, double-click
My Computer and then the
M:Drive
icon. The folder which you have been asigned rights will be displayed.
Note: If you have not been assigned rights to a folder, the M:Drive folder contents will appear blank.
Note: If your desktop has been migrated to UDS (University Domain Service), the M:Drive is mapped automatically and is visible when you open Windows Explorer.
