Does NUI Galway have a site licence for Adobe software?

NUI Galway has an academic term site licence for Adobe Acrobat 10 Professional.

All other Adobe products can be purchased directly from Adobe.  NUI Galway has a Contractual Licensing Programme Agreement with Adobe, which allows staff at the University to buy licences for Adobe products at considerably reduced rates.

How can I get Adobe software for my computer?

• Adobe Reader 9 is available in the PC Suites
  
  
• Students
  Students cannot avail of the contractual licensing programme. However, students can avail of educational pricing for Adobe software licences by contacting Micromail Ltd. ( Alicemicromail.ie or  Diarmuidmicromail.ie).
  
  
• Staff
  Staff can download  Adobe Acrobat 10 Professional from the Adobe web site. Before installing, you must request the Adobe Licence code (Win or MAC) from the ISS Service Desk, (ext. 5777, email servicedesknuigalway.ie). 
  All other Adobe software is available under the Adobe contractual licensing programme - MicroMail Ltd.

What price are Adobe software licences?

NUI Galway Staff can contact Micromail directly ( Fionanmicromail.ie) for a quote under the Contractual Licensing Programme Agreement with Adobe, this allows NUI Galway staff to buy licences for Adobe products at considerably reduced rates.
 

How do I purchase an Adobe software licence?

Staff 

1. Please check system requirements at www.adobe.co.uk/ before you purchase.
2. Contact Fionanmicromail.ie at  Micromail with:
   
   - Product name and number of software licences required
   - Operating system details
   - Purchase Order number

3. You will purchase a licence only which arrives by email along with an installation code.   

How do I install Adobe software?

A. To install Adobe Acrobat 10 Professional detailed installation instructions are available online

B. To install Adobe software purchased under the contractual licensing programme - MicroMail Ltd.
You have two options for installing:

1. The installation CD can be purchased separately from Micromail (cost per CD = €35 ex. VAT).
2. Download the software from an Adobe website – you will receive details with the email containing the installation code. 

Can I install Adobe software on my home computer?

One licence will allow you to install the software on two PCs operated by you (e.g. your home PC and office PC) so long as only one copy is in use at any one time.  The licence is assigned to the purchaser; it is not possible to share one licence between two different people. The licence is not tied to the operating system platform as long as the software is available for both Windows and Mac e.g. Photoshop . However, you will need to use a different installation CD for Windows and Macintosh versions.

What is the difference between Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Professional?
