What is ModelSim?

ModelSim provides a comprehensive simulation and debug environment for complex ASIC and FPGA designs. Support is provided for multiple languages including Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL and SystemC.

Current version available: ModelSim SE 6.0a

Does NUI, Galway have a site licence for ModelSim software?

No. The Electronic Engineering Department, NUI, Galway has a limit of 70 ModelSim licenses available for on-campus use only. The current license agreement will continue until 31st December 2009.

How can I get ModelSim software for my computer?

• ModelSim is available in PC Suites – search online for relevant PC suites at www.nuigalway.ie/information-solutions-and-services/suites/suites.php

  Students can purchase the software from http://www.model.com/

• Staff 
  ModelSim is available for on-campus use only. Please email servicedesknuigalway.ie to borrow a copy of the installation CD. 
  
  ModelSim is available to postgraduate researchers for on-campus use only i.e. researchers who have a desktop computer linked to the campus network (excluding wireless connections). Please email servicedesknuigalway.ie to borrow a copy of the installation CD.
