Getting Started with PDF Converter Pro

After installation of PDF Converter Pro, you will see a new item in the Start . Programs menu for ScanSoft PDF Professional.  This software is made up of the following parts:

• PDF Converter Assistant
• PDF Converter Professional
• PDF Create! Assistant

This document is intended to give an overview of the basic capabilities of PDF Converter Pro software and to give you tips to get started. For more information, please refer to the software Help. All of these products contain Help either by pressing F1 or a Help button.

Create PDF Files

When working in Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint, you can call on PDF Create! To create a PDF file directly from your current document.

Example 1
If you are working on a document in Microsoft Word and would like to save the document as a PDF file, from the PDF Create! menu, choose Convert to PDF.
Alternatively, you can create a PDF by choosing the printer Scansoft PDF Create! that you will see in your list of printers when you choose Print from the File menu in Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

Edit PDF Files

Use PDF Converter Pro to edit text and objects in a PDF document.

Example 2
Open PDF Converter Pro and open the PDF that you wish to edit. From the Tools menu, choose Edit and then choose Edit Text.

Merge documents into a single PDF

You can use PDF Create! Assistant to merge several documents into a single PDF. A wide range of file types can be merged to create a single PDF.

Example 3
Open PDF Converter Professional

Click on File, Create PDF and select Combine Multiple Files

 The following box will appear, click on Add File

Browse to the requred file and double click on it.  To add subsequent files, click Add File again and select any other files you want to add to the combination

Shortcut tip: To select more than one file at the same time, hold down the CTRL key and click on the other files you wish to select and then click the Open button.

Once you have selected all your files click on Convert files to PDF documents

You will now be prompted to save and name your new document
