Current version available: Symantec Anti-Virus 10.0 for MAC, Symantec Anti-Virus 10.2 for MAC Leopard and Symantec EndPoint Protection 11.0.6 for OS 10.6

Does NUI, Galway have a site licence for Symantec software?

No, NUI, Galway has limited licenses for use by permanent members of staff (on-campus machines only).

How can I get Symantec software for my computer?

  Staff wishing to install Symantec anti-virus on a University-owned machine may do so by borrowing a CD  from the ISS Service Desk (ext. 5777, email servicedesknuigalway.ie).
  
  
• Installation Information
  To install software on your machine you must login as an administrator.
  
  To install Symantec EndPoint Protection 11.0.6, open the SEP_MAC subfolder, unzip the file to view the package and then launch it to open the installer. Schedule Automatic Live Updates by launching the scheduler application and then create an update schedule.
  

Can I install Symantec software on my home computer?

No. Symantec anti-virus is available for on-campus use only.
