Information Solutions and Services manages both General Access and Departmental suites, see relevant text below. Users of both types of suite must abide by the PC suites Code of Conduct and PC Suite Guidelines.
General access suites are available for use by all students and most may be booked by academic staff for teaching, exams, and conferences (through the Conference Office). In the academic year 2011-12 there are 18 General Access suites ranging in size from 10 to 64 PCs, offering a total of 590 seats. A wide range of software is provided, as requested by academic staff. To see which software is available in a suite use the software search function.18 of these suites are available for booking. Access to storage space, email and Blackboard is provided. In total between General Access & Departmental suites, there 1523 seats available in 63 suites.
Departmental suites are reserved for use by students of individual departments or courses. In some cases access is restricted by swipe card or login restriction. There are 45 Departmental Suites offering a total of 933 seats. These suites may not be booked. A wide range of software is provided, as requested by academic staff.
