What is StudentMail?

StudentMail is the email service for students registering for the first time from 21 August 2008 onwards and it is a hosted service called Exchange Labs provided by the University in collaboration with Microsoft.

Who can use this service?

Students who register with NUI, Galway for the first time on or after 21 August 2008.

How do I access StudentMail?

StudentMail is available 24 x 7 at http://studentmail.nuigalway.ie/

Username (Windows Live ID) = NUI, Galway student e-mail address as printed on your registration statement
Password = Printed on your registration statement

The first time you try to access your email account, you are required to activate the account.

Where can I get advice and support on using StudentMail?

You can get context-based help when viewing your mail on the web by clicking the  icon at the top-right of the mail screen.

Frequently Asked Questions are available online.

There is an online facility to  check the status of the StudentMail service.

If you have any queries about the StudentMail service, please contact the Service Desk. 

Will existing WebMail users be migrated to StudentMail?

All users of the current WebMail service will be migrated to StudentMail during the academic year 2008/2009. More details will follow.  A Webmail overview is available for returning students.
