How To Open An Adobe (PDF) File From A Web Browser In The PC Suites

If you wish to open an Adobe (PDF) file in Blackboard or from any other web site in the PC Suites, please review the instructions below:

Using Internet Explorer

  1. Launch Internet Explorer from the NUI Galway Applications window 
    Do NOT use the Start menu. PDF documents will not open correctly if you launch IE using the Start button. An error will appear complaining about the version of Adobe Reader 
  2. Right-click on the Adobe (PDF) file, select Save Target As to save the file to your U: Drive
  3. Open My Computer, select the saved the Adobe (PDF) file and then open it. 

Using Firefox

  1. Launch  Firefox from the NUI Galway Applications window 
  2. Right-click on the Adobe (PDF) file, select Save Target As to save the file to your U: Drive
  3. Open My Computer, select the saved the Adobe (PDF) file and then open it.
