‌Autodesk Education Community are offering a free download trial of Autodesk 2011 editions 2D & 3D design software  – including a 6-month licenses of animation and visualization products like Autodesk® 3ds Max® and Autodesk® Maya®

Autodesk focuses on 2D and 3D design software for use in architecture, engineering and building construction, manufacturing, and media and entertainment.

Autodesk Inventoris 3D CAD modelling software package.

What is AutoCAD?

AutoCAD, a product of AutoDesk, is a computer-aided drafting (CAD) software package for 2D and 3D design and drafting.

Does NUI, Galway have a site licence for Autodesk software?

No. NUI Galway currently has a limited number of licences distributed by a network license server. Licenses are for use in the PC Suites.

How can I get Autodesk software for my computer?

Known Issues

Students can only download the most recently released Autodesk product (student version) from the Autodesk student website. The following Autodesk products are not backward compatible - Revit series (Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP), Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Civil 3D - which means that newer file versions for these products cannot be opened in the PC Suites where an older Autodesk product version is installed.
