Android / Smartphone

You should purchase the handheld device that best meets your requirements but please keep in mind that Information Solutions and Services can supply and support only devices on the University e-Government Contract and Three.

Students are advised that Information Solutions and Services do not provide support for personally-owned computer equipment. 

There are no restrictions on Android/ Smartphones accessing the WiFi network on-campus.

Accessing Email

Android/Smartphone users with Internet access can access their Staff Email or Student Email account on the device using a web browser

StudentMail users with a Windows Mobile or ActiveSync device can also synchronize their Android/Smartphone with one Student Email mailbox

Activate a SIM

Once your device and SIM are delivered, login to blueclick.ie go to Services Requests and click Activate a new SIM

Email Setup for Staff

Staff email users may be able to setup synchronisation of email and calendar on their Android/Smartphone if the device allows synchronisation with a Office 365 server. Prior to purchasing, it is recommended that you confirm with your mobile provider that the device can be configured for Office 365. Remember to determine the data charges for this service.

  Note: Your Android/Smartphone will not synchronise fully if you have sub folders within your Inbox folder.

Repairs

  • Login to blueclick.ie and from the home screen click on Returns & Repairs. Complete the prompted questions and Three will be in contact with you regarding organizing collection of your device for repair. Or you can complete the Three Business Direct Handset Repair Form
