Final Year Students win Entrepreneurship Award
Four Final Year Information Technology students received a €2000 prize as part of the Enterprise Ireland/Ulster Bank student awards 2002-2003.
The students developed and presented a business plan for a wrist worn device to help prevent accidents due to fatigue.
The students developed their business plan as part of an Entrepreneurship module within their Professional Skills course. Students conceive and develop the ideas themselves, receiving support in the form of conventional lectures and workshops involving NUI,Galway Industrial Liaison Office, Westbic and other guest speakers.

Their college lecturer was Hugh Melvin.
