Allergan Award for Innovation
In association with Allergan and the Galway University Foundation, the Allergan Award for Innovation will provide funding to accomplished scholars who wish to advance their innovative research studies in the field of Life Sciences.
The award for 2019 is €10,000.
Applications for the Allergan Innovation Award are invited from NUI Galway Postgraduate and PhD students. The application process will be overseen by the University's Innovation Office, part of the Office for the Vice-President for Research.
This innovation in the Life Science space can specialise in one or more of the following areas: Dermatology & Aesthetics, Central Nervous System, Eye Care, Women’s Health & Urology, Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular disease & Infectious disease or an area associated with Allergan’s manufacturing technologies.
Evaluation Process
A judging panel will be drawn from the external business community and the Offices of the Vice-President for Research.
Applications should:
- Demonstrate vision and significant potential for impact
- Set out the processes and skills that are required to progress the project
- Illustrate clearly where the project is innovative and how it is unique
- Provide detail on how the award will benefit the innovation
Guidelines
- One award will be made
- Submissions may come from an individual or a team
- Applicants must be in the area of Life Sciences or an area associated with Allergan’s manufacturing technologies.
- Funds must be used within two years of the Award, during which time the successful award recipient must reside in Ireland
- A report will be required on the completion of this award to highlight what has been achieved for the funder
