All applicants, whose first language is not English, must present one of the following qualifications in the English language.

NUI Galway IELTs Course

A preparation course for the English language test (International English Language Testing System) is available on the NUI Galway campus for entry in September 2016.

Programme Aim

The overall aim of the course is to assist students in achieving a 6.5 score on the IELTS Academic exam. Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on such a result on the IELTS Academic test.

This outcome is specifically tailored towards candidates who want to study or train in an English-speaking university or institutions of higher and further education, including The National University of Ireland Galway, and require a 6.5 IELTS score to do so.
