NUI Galway welcomes students from Russia who wish to undertake undergraduate or prostgraduate degree programmes.


Students who have completed their Secondary School education in Russia are normally required to complete a recognised foundation year programme before gaining admission to an undergraduate degree programme. (see below)


Students holding a Bachelor degree or Specialist Diploma from a recognised Russian university are eligible for entry to postgraduate programmes at NUI Galway.

Entry to a Ph.D. usually requires a Masters. Exceptional applicants presenting a Bachelor degree from with excellent grades (5), may be considered for PhD programmes.

In addition, students must meet the University's English Language Requirements.

Foundation Programmes

Applicants from non-English speaking countries are normally required to complete a foundation programme before gaining admission to an undergraduate degree.

NUI Galway does not offer an on-campus foundation programme, however we work with the following providers in Ireland:

Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC)

Atlantic Language School is situated in Galway and offers an undergraduate foundation year programme in Business and a general Pre-Masters preparation programme for postgraduate students.
