TIMETABLES
Please log onto the Examinations Office website http://www.nuigalway.ie/exams/ to access your Personal Examination Timetable.
You will use a combination of your ID Number and Pin Number to access your personal timetable. Both of these numbers can be found on your registration statement issued to you after course selection.
If you have a query regarding your timetable/examinations, please read the FAQ on the Examinations Office website above before contacting the Examinations Office or the International Affairs Office.
EXAMINATION TRANSCRIPTS
Transcripts of results for visiting students will be issued to the home university approximately six weeks after the examinations end. Transcripts will be mailed to the Study Abroad Institution in respect of Occasional Arts Students and to the Home Institution in respect of Erasmus Students.
If you would like a transcript (copy) of your results, please download and fill the Visiting Student Transcript Request Form.
Please Note: Transcripts cannot be faxed to individuals, they are posted to the address specified on the transcript request form. Transcript Request Forms must be signed by the student whose results are being requested.

PROCEDURES FOR CHECKING OF EXAMINATION RESULTS
(i) Students may formally request the Registrar to arrange a check of their examination result within
three weeks from the date of issue of examination results or, in exceptional circumstances,
within such extended period as allowed by the President of the College.
(ii) The Registrar shall communicate with the relevant Head of Department or his/her nominee, who
shall arrange to have the result checked as soon as possible. The formal check shall ensure that
all parts of the examination have been marked and that no errors occurred in the recording,
collating or combining of marks which determined the result.
(iii) The outcome of the checking of an examination result shall be communicated in writing by the
Head of Department, or his/her nominee, to the Registrar who shall, if a change in the result is
recommended, make the necessary arrangements to have the result amended, and inform the
student concerned without delay.
GROUNDS FOR
APPEAL
An appeal of an examination result shall be considered:
a) If there is evidence of substantive irregularity in the conduct of the examination.
b) If the student claims on stated grounds that the marks awarded were incorrect or inappropriate.
c) If there are circumstances that the Examination Board was not aware of when its decision was taken.
REPEAT EXAMINATIONS
Repeat Examinations will be held during the months of May and August. Students who have failed a module in the Semester 1 or Semester 2 examinations may request to attend the repeat examinations. If you wish to repeat an examination, please contact the International Affairs Office by email at

nuigalway.ie stating your name, ID number and module you wish to repeat. Requests to repeat must be received within three weeks after the issue of results. Students will be expected to return to Galway in August for the repeat examinations. Alternative repeat facilities are not permitted.
