STUDY ABROAD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA | |

An agreement is in existence which provides for student exchange between NUI Galway and the ten campuses of the University of California - Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Merced and Santa Cruz.
Registered postgraduate students of NUI Galway are invited to apply for an exchange place within the academic period September 2012 to December 2013. Under this scheme, periods of study of up to one academic year may be facilitated. A minimum study period of 3 months is required under the terms of the exchange. Tuition fees are covered under the scholarship and in addition a financial contribution (of approximately €1000) is made towards cost of travel for successfully selected students. |

Applicants will be considered and selected on the basis of the proposals submitted to the Committee for relevant study or research to be undertaken at the University of California. Applicants must be registered postgraduate students at NUI Galway and must be supported in this application by their academic supervisor. It is a requirement that the proposed study or research should make a significant contribution to the applicant's postgraduate studies/research at this University. It is advisable for applicants to make contact with a potential supervisor at the University of California prior to making an application for the exchange programme or to identify taught graduate modules which the applicant intends to pursue at UC. You are requested to bring the existence of this opportunity to the notice of registered postgraduate students in your department. Applications should be made on the official Application Form which can be downloaded here. Two hardcopies of the completed application forms should be received at the International Affairs Office, University of California Exchange Programme, 7 Distillery Rd, NUI Galway not later than 5.15 pm on Friday October 21st October 2011.
