UNDERGRADUATE Entry Requirements
Choosing your programme
Exact entry requirements may vary by programme. In Ireland and many other European countries, undergraduate students enter a specific programme in their first year. Some programmes such as the
Bachelor of Art (Omnibus) and the
Bachelor of Science
(Undenominated) are ’open’ degrees, which means you choose classes from across a broad range of subjects within a certain area of study before specialising at a later stage.
Such programmes are ideally suited to students who know generally what area of study they are interested in (e.g. Arts/Humanities, Business, Science etc.,) but who may not know which exact subject(s) within that area they wish to concentrate on at the point of entry.
In addition, we also offer a number of more specialised programmes for students who know what they wish to focus on from their very first year of study.
General Entry Requirements
International Applicants are assessed based on their school grades and their performance in relevant standardised examinations in their home country (e.g. SATs).
Exact entry requirements may vary by programme, but as a general guide students should meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered.
|
European Union |
Please refer to the National University of Ireland
Matriculation Handbook for European entry requirements. |
|
USA |
US applicants are assessed based on their High School transcripts and their performance in standardised tests (SAT or ACT).
As a general guide, students should present a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be considered for most programmes.
In addition, students should present a minimum combined SAT(I) score of 1700, or a composite ACT score of 25. Preference is also given to applicants presenting AP or SAT (II) test scores.
