The Reasonable Accommodation Project

In July 2004, the Centre was commissioned by the Equality Authority to commence a study in the area of reasonable accommodation. A 'reasonable accommodation' is any change in the work environment or in the way a job is performed in order to enable disabled persons and others to enjoy equal employment opportunities. The aim of the study was to compare, on an international scale, the development of law and practice relating to reasonable accommodation. A report detailing the findings of the study was submitted to the Authority in December 2004.
