Biography of Bochao Yang

Dr. Bochao Yang is a Lecturer in the Institute for Human Rights at the China University of Political Science and Law. He pursued his PhD degree at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, NUI Galway (Oct. 2011-Jan 2016). His PhD research investigated the revision of China’s foreign policy in respect to the application of the principle of non-intervention in international law when participating in UN operations. In addition, the research analyses the legal and political challenges to enhancing China’s participation in UN peacekeeping. Dr. Yang has served as legal-intern in China’s Court of Xicheng.  His research interests include international human rights law, international humanitarian law, the UN legal framework on peacekeeping, as well as international environmental and economic law.
