EMWINS: ENERGY-MONITORING WIRELESS NETWORKED SYSTEM

Description

The EMWiNS project aims to systematically develop a tool to support the embedded monitoring and fault isolation that forms the basis for automated continuous commissioning of HVAC systems in buildings. This tool will be deployed in a wireless monitoring and control (sensor/actuator) network. EMWiNS is a 18 month project funded by Enterprise Ireland with the involvement of three universities, namely: University College of Cork, National University of Ireland, Galway and the Cork Institute of Technology. The IRUSE group’s main task is the development and validation, according to international standards such as the ASHRAE Guideline 14 and the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol, of Modelica-based reduced order models of Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Systems to support fault detection and diagnosis.
