LAW WITH Italian
Italian can be chosen as an option in both the Civil and Corporate Law degree programmes
First Year
IT105 Italian Language and Civilisation.
The course, open to all students, both beginners and non beginners aims at developing communicative competence in everyday life and professional situations. It develops the four main language skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing, by means of regular practice based as much as possible on authentic material.
No previous knowledge of Italian is required
and students should be able to achieve a good level of fluency by the end of the year.
Second Year
IT251 Italian Language.
In each semester there will be intensive language work, focusing particularly on legal texts. Emphasis will be on significantly increasing competence in both written and spoken business Italian.
Year Abroad
Students are encouraged to avail of the Erasmus Programme and to spend the third year of their course studying at a University in Italy
Final Year
IT334 Italian Language.
The intensive language course in final year will bring students to a high level of proficiency in Italian and, whilst dealing with situations arising in everyday conversation, it will focus on topics specific to law, with a view to preparing students for future employment in the sector.
