MScSED - MSc Software Engineering & Database Technologies (2 years) is designed to advance your knowledge of software engineering and development, and database design and development. The MSc is a level 9 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
Students complete ten 8-week modules over the two years of the programme. In addition, a Masters-level research or development thesis is submitted at the end of the 2nd year. The thesis involves two extra modules. The schedule of module options for MScSED students will be sent to you upon registration. MScSED module descriptions
Diploma - Diploma in Software Engineering (1 year) concentrates on software engineering alone. The Diploma is a level 8 qualification on the NFQ. Students complete five 8-week modules over the course of one year. (A thesis is not required for the postgraduate diploma).
CPD - Continuing Professional Development (8 weeks) option allows you to take individual software engineering modules of your choice.
The schedule of modules in the current academic year is available on the launchpad (for IT Online students). You will gain access to the launchpad when you are an IT Online student.
IT Online programmes are ideal if you:
- want to update your ICT development skills
- require a specialism area in software development or database systems development for your current or future work
- want to gain specialized knowledge of specific IT topics as well as the opportunity to develop advanced research and/or development skills
IT Online programmes are delivered jointly by NUI Galway and Regis University.
