Shivaun Quinlivan has been a law lecturer in the Law Faculty, National University of Ireland, Galway since 2000. Shivaun's research interests lie mainly in the field of equality and the law, with a particular interest in disability rights. She is a founder member of the Law Faculty's Disability Law Policy and Research Unit. She was appointed as the Irish National Expert to the European Commission's Network of Legal Experts in Disability Discrimination, and served on the Network for two years. More recently she was appointed as the Irish National Expert on the Network of Legal Experts on Non-Discrimination. Shivaun is also involved in a EU Disability Discrimination project which provides training workshops on the General Framework Directive for new Member States and the Accession States of the EU.
