Acknowledgments
My sincerest thanks go first to Donncha O’Connell, Dean of the Faculty
of Law, and Marie McGonagle, Head of the Law Department, for their steadfast
support of the Galway Student Law Review. Thanks are likewise
due to all of my colleagues, especially those who recognised and then submitted
promising student essays for publication. Having been significantly revamped
both stylistically and substantively, these essays now form the corpus of this
volume.
Special
thanks, as always, go to the Faculty of Law’s IT Consultant, Michael
Coyne, for his technical support in this and many other of our individual and
collective endeavours. He is exceedingly patient in dealing with my technological
incompetence. I’d also like to thank Sarah Cazebon, whose efforts
to promote and publicise the Galway Student Law Review are much appreciated
and may well lead to our publishing works of student scholarship in traditional
bound volumes, as well as in our current online format.
Finally,
I want to commend all of the students who worked on pieces for this, the third
volume of the Review. They undertook this cumbersome and, at
times, seemingly thankless work good-naturedly and without hesitation over
the course of some eighteen months. I promised them that their efforts
would not go unrewarded.
